SAMPLE ITINERARY - MAREMMA PARK TREK

Day 1
Arrive at the host establishment and relax. In the evening meet with the guide and the other guests.  Enjoy chatting and getting to know one another.

Day 2
We travel by road to the Maremma Parc and enjoy lunch at the camp by Montiano.  In the afternoon we meet the horses and spend time getting to know them, whilst ensuring compatability.  We enjoy some gorgeous views over the sea.

Day 3
We leave the horses at camp and travel by car to meet the 'Butteri' (cowboys), who lead us with their horses through the park among the cattle, horses, bucks and boars. We picnic with the 'Butteri' and have a swim in the sea before heading back to camp in the evening.

Day 4
We reach the coast on one of the most beautiful beaches of Tuscany, where we have the opportunity to swim. After a visit to the Saracen towers, we leave Maremme Park and head accross the hills and pastures, observing all the wildlife around us.  Eventually we arrive at our camp which is just beyond the Park's boundaries.

Day 5
Today we continue our journey into the Maremma hills, a ride which takes us through fords and rich vegetation, in an area still untoughed by human habitation.  We cross the vinyards of the famous Scansano wine and reach the Albegns river.  We follow the river down to our camp.

Day 6
Our trip continues along the Albegna river until we reach the Stellata, which is the river of thermal waters that springs from the famous waterfalls. Here we enjoy our picnic and relax in the warm thermal waters. In the afternoon we will reach the Fiora and ride to the camp.

Day 7
We continue to ride through the Fiora Valley in the morning.  In the afternoon we enter the beech wood and return to our host establishment.  Here we will savour our last Italian meal with all of the group.

Day 8
Today we all depart.
