Olle had an accident 2 days before the ride so Annette, his partner was ride leader. She was both engaging and thoughtful in her approach. Jessica and Camilla who helped as escorts were cheerful and competent in their riding skills, demeanour and langage abilities.

Horses excellent after Vernon changed to another more forward horse, Fjell.
Vera rode Balder the whole time. An excellent young chap!

Yes, a rider must not be scared of galloping! These horses go for miles, up and down hills and around bends at exhilarating speeds at times. They are very surefooted over rough terrain in the depths of the forest. We loved it all!
The accent was on local food and really came up trumps. We particularly loved the Crayfish party, the BBQ and the elk roast etc.!

We are very familiar with the region.
Although we know the area very well, the other guests would have liked more explanation/elaboration regarding local history, geology, flora and fauna and less about pixies and fairies.

Hard to answer! You need to get used to different tack and a new approach but that was one of the reasons for going to Kalvefall.
The ride would be challening for those riders who only do clever things in an arena. We, however, enjoy trailriding.

One little grump: The accommodation could have benefitted from some shelves and hooks for clothing. As it was, we had to spread everything on the spare (third) bed.
